Day 3: An experiment in Committees

9:58-
Editorial, Committees are dangerous. It's a good way to compromise until you've said nothing. We are currently discussing the repeal of parallel sub-committees, and providing for a more fluid and useful schedule and creating some 'open debate' period into the schedule, then the sub-committees will meet for 2 hours this evening to produce documents in the vein of the debate.

10:40- Committee of the Whole, Discussion of the Federal Reserve.

11:37- OUR CAUCUS JUST PASSED ITS FIRST RESOLUTION TO ENCOURAGE CITIZENS TO PURCHASE HARD CURRENCIES, AND BEGIN TO SET UP TRADE IN THEIR COMMUNITIES WITH IT.
This is the first of several Civic Action pieces our Caucus is working on.

------
11:53- We are having problems with privelege and process. It's becoming ridiculous. Delegates have been railroaded off, and this is wrong. We are breaking for lunch soon.

11:54- Recessed for Lunch.

14:53- We've had speeches, films, and lunch in the intervening time. We received several documents from Dr. Vieira that we are considering. Several committees have been created in this time as well. This next section of time is allocated for Committee work.

Final Update of the Day [20:00 Local]

You'll notice that there is a large block of time for which I did take such diligent notes. I wanted to let you know what happened. First I made a Point of Order... 3 times before I was recognized by the chair. My complaints, although validated by several other Delegates, were dismissed out of hand by the VP, acting Chair.

I then spoke to group during the open discussion portion on Militias and 2A. I said something like this, "The American people have heard from politicians and media for a long time that the lawful exercise of their Right to Self-Defense, their Right to disobey arbitray and/or Unconstitutional authority is wrong. It is terrorism or un-American. The most important thing, in my opinion, that this Body can do, to legitimize defensive actions taken against a tyrannical government as per our Founding Documents."

That is still my opinion.

Good night, friends, fellow patriots. I am leaving shortly for a Caucus group where we will continue to work to provide the Delegation with practical things to vote on that We the People can do. I am of two mind on this: One, we can rattle the saber and say, "this far and no farther." or; Two, we can ignore the arbitrary and unconstitutional actions, and go about our lives as Sovereign Citizens of the States and focus on our Communities, until the aggression of the District comes to our door.

But I fear that it may eventually come to a conflict, sadly. I hope we can avoid it, but I hope you prepare if we cannot.

Again, good night.

In Liberty

  1. Kevin,

Thank you for doing this. Reading your diary I have to agree with your votes and ideas. Keep up the good work.

Keep your chin up, as the hours drag to days, and the days to weeks, frustrations will occcur. Stand tall, stand proud, resiliant and purposeful.

For liberty and justice for all!
